Image Types
Transparencies, or not
Image Types
There are many different types of images, JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, etc. To make things more simple when starting out with HTML we will work with just two of these file types, JPG and PNG.
JPG
When working with images that have many colors, and no transparency it is good to use a JPG file. These files allow you to save large or small files at a smaller file size, which allows the images to be downloaded quickly.
PNG
When working with small images, that need a transparency, it is good to use a PNG file. PNG files, unlike JPG files, allow for a transparency to be used. These transparencies can make the file size very large, so it is best to only use PNG files with transparencies for smaller images. A good use of this would be a website logo.
